It\u2019s awful.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you stick your neck out in public, at least someone notices if your head gets chopped off,\u201d Eskridge added. \u201cIf you stick your neck out in private, they will bury you. They will burn down your house while you\u2019re sleeping in your bed, and it won\u2019t even make the news.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">In the same interview, she discussed the increasing pressure surrounding her work. \u201cI have to publish because it\u2019s only going to get worse until I publish,\u201d she said, adding that the situation was \u201cgetting more and more aggressive.\u201d<\/h2>\n<p>In her presentations and interviews, Eskridge noted that researchers working on unconventional technologies might experience pressure to remove their work from the public domain.
